Hyaluronic acid (HA, also known as Hyaluronan) is a linear polysaccharide composed of repeating disaccharide units consisting of N-acetyl-glucosamine and D-glucuronic acid. HA is naturally present in the human body and plays an important role in tissue and cellular functions. Numerous chemical modifications aimed at enhancing, modulating or controlling the action of HA have been developed for new therapeutic products. In many cases, HA biological activity is believed to be related to its molecular size. Creative PEGWorks is proud to provide a comprehensive collection of both unmodified HA with molecular weight ranging from a few hundred to 2.5 million Dalton and modified HA with a variety of functionalities, including Acrylate, Aldehyde, Amine, Azide, Biotin, Carboxyl, Epoxide, Hydrazide, Maleimide, NHS, Thiol and Tryamine.  Fluorescein, Rhodamine, AMCA and Near Infrared dye labeled HA reagents are also available for optical imaging studies. Our hyaluronic acid derivatives are for laboratory research testing only.
